The holiday season is a time usually spent celebrating traditions, whether religious, familial, or consumer-based. Some people choose to start celebrating Christmas immediately post-Halloween, but we like to wait until December here at GFR. And our new favorite tradition is getting a look at all of the ridiculously cool holiday merch released by pop culture-infused artist and designer PJ McQuade. He’s outdone himself this year, stopping not just at savvy and silly Christmas cards, but moving onto creating ornaments from his work. You can now finally have the perfect Christmas tree. All those years you’ve spent trying were all for naught, and you have pretty much wasted most of your life until now. Merry Christmas.
Star Wars may not be the most likely place to show your Christmas spirit, given you’re probably still on meds to help you forget the 1978 holiday special. But McQuade makes it seem like the most natural fit in the world. If hanging up pictures of Lando Calrissian under mistletoe doesn’t become the next great Christmas tradition, then I’m going to personally put a hit out on the Elf on the Shelf in order to get the movement started.
So let’s take a look at some of the new cards McQuade has created, and try not to get too upset that you didn’t know about Jabba’s soirée. He probably just misplaced the invitation. That, or he hates you.
I’m not even going to show you guys the punny messages McQuade has inscribed inside each card, because you should just go over to his Etsy page and see them for yourself. And if you don’t have your credit card ready when you do so, you’re doing it wrong. But don’t worry, Lando is here to help you do it oh so right. Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes are starting up a slow jam to knock you right out of this galaxy.
I mean seriously. No mantle is complete without a handful of these cards lined up all across it. No one is going to make fun of you for buying and sending yourself Christmas cards. Mostly because no one talks to you anymore after you weren’t cool enough to get invited to Jabba’s party. But at least you have your health and a few places to put up some Star Wars ornaments. Check those out below.
I’ve saved the best, or at least my favorite, for last, because your mind would have been too blown away to make it through the article otherwise. Without further ado, I present to you the rare triple reference Christmas ornament, the Santa Darth Heisenberg.
He know if you’ve been Breaking Bad or good, so be good for goodness’ sake. And go buy some cards.
