Jurassic World Rumored To Add Jason Schwartzman

Colin Trevorrow has been busy casting Jurassic World (formerly Jurassic Park IV) to get the film ready for its summer 2015 release date. The film had a shaky start, but after a short hiatus to address production issues and rewrites, the Jurassic Park sequel seems to have found solid ground. Now new rumors suggest an unlikely face may join the sequel.
According to Hypable’s sources close to the film, actor Jason Schwartzman is rumored to be joining the cast of the dinosaur movie. Although there is no word on which character Schwartzman would be playing in Jurassic World, Hypable reached out to the 33-year-old actor’s representatives, who responded with a “no comment.” Schwartzman is an unlikely choice for the film because he doesn’t seem like the sort of actor you usually find in big summer blockbuster movies. Then again, Colin Trevorrow isn’t like most summer blockbuster directors.
Jason Schwartzman is best known as the guy who keeps popping up in Wes Anderson’s movies. Most notably, Schwartzman played the titular role in Anderson’s 1998 film Rushmore, and voiced the character of Ash in Anderson’s 2009 stop-motion film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr. Fox (what does the fox say?). Schwartzman was also featured in the movies CQ, Funny People, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, as well as the short-lived TV series Bored to Death on HBO. He will soon be seen in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, which opens in early 2014.
At the moment, Bryce Dallas Howard and Iron Man 3‘s Ty Simpkins are the only two actors confirmed for the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park film series. Actors Josh Brolin, Nick Robinson, Jake Johnson, David Oyelowo, and John Krasinski are all rumored to be also joining the cast as well, but nothing has been made official by Universal.
There are no plot details available, but Jurassic World is rumored to take place at a new theme park, which is fully operational and safe. The new Jurassic Park has become the most popular tourist attraction in the world, but to gain more attendees, they introduce a new aquatic dinosaur that breaks free and wreaks havoc. It is also believed that Jurassic World will take place at the original location of the first Jurassic Park movies, Site A on Isla Nublar, off the coast of Costa Rica.
Director Colin Trevorrow cowrote the screenplay with his writing partner, Derek Connolly (Safety Not Guaranteed), taking over from Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver’s (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) original screenplay. Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg will produce the sequel film, while Kathleen Kennedy dropped out of the film’s production to focus her complete attention on Star Wars: Episode VII for Disney and Lucasfilm.
Jurassic World will hit theaters everywhere on June 12, 2015, in 3D and IMAX.
