Jurassic World Photo Teases Dinosaur Veteranarians

According to the information we currently have, Jurassic World, the next installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, takes place in a fully functional, open-to-the-public theme park where sunburned tourists from around the world can gawk at dinosaurs brought back from extinction. Because there are animals around, there has to be someone taking care of them, right? Eventually we assume that they’ll break free from their paddocks and start munching on random sightseers, but until then, some one has to feed them, and Colin Trevorrow has just given us our first look these dino-caregivers.
The Safety Not Guaranteed director took to his official Twitter account in order to share a photo of the patch worn on the sleeve of the Isla Nublar Veterinary Services. We would have called them Dino-Docs, but that sounds way less official and professional. This also reconfirms that the action takes place on the same island as the original film, where billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) first gave his ill-fated dream a go. I really hope there’s a memorial for him somewhere, maybe a bronze statue of him petting a tiny dinosaur.
We’ve heard that star Chris Pratt may be some kind of dinosaur trainer, and you have to wonder if he’s also part of this crew. This image definitely looks worn and weathered, like it belongs on the shoulder of someone who actually goes out into the field and interacts with the dinosaurs in nature. When you look at the earlier picture of Bryce Dallas Howard in a pristine white lab coat, you guess that maybe she’s a part of the science side of things, rather than someone responsible for day-to-day care. She looks way too clean.
There have also been rumblings that the main conflict of Jurassic World arises when those in charge of the park aren’t satisfied with simply making an absurd amount of money, they want to make a ridiculously absurd amount of money. They’re not satisfied with running the biggest tourist destination on the planet. So they decide to play god even more, combining the DNA of a T-Rex, Velociraptor, a snake, and even a cuttlefish, creating an ungodly hybrid that can camouflage itself. There’s no way that can possibly go wrong.
Jurassic World is currently shooting in Hawaii, where the previous installments also filmed. Trevorrow teamed up with Pat Crowley to tackle the script, and the production has wrangled a fantastic cast, including Pratt, Howard, Jake Johnson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Judy Greer, Irrfan Khan, Ty Simpkins, Omar Sy, Andy Buckley, and returning actor BD Wong. The film will open everywhere on June 12, 2015.
