With a little more than a week before Election Day, the race for the U.S. Presidency is heating up. It’s a close race between incumbent President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Governor Mitt Romney. What would a Presidential election be without a few celebrity endorsements? The latest celebrity to throw their name behind a candidate is geek-icon Joss Whedon. Surprisingly, he endorses Governor Romney… for the President to bring the country closer to the zombie apocalypse. Check out his ringing endorsement below:

Whedon makes a good point; we should start looking to prepare for the zombie apocalypse despite who our next President would be. Collecting canned goods, having an escape route, and even learning Parkour will help us survive against the 98% of zombies. Whedon’s tongue-in-cheek approach to Election Day is pretty funny, although at times feels very haunting, with his famous wry sense of humor and cleverly written script.

Joss Whedon has a loyal Internet following, which is why he puts out videos like this every once and a while. A few months ago, Whedon released a “Written By Kids” video, where he interacted with children who wrote zany genre stories. There aren’t many billion-dollar directors who would release wacky viral videos like these.

But seriously, whether if you are a Republican, Democrat, or Independent, Election Day is next Tuesday, November 6th. Please go out and vote (especially if you are registered to vote in Ohio). It’s an important time for our country and it only happens once every four years. It’s really easy to do, and you get a cool sticker afterwards.
