A practice not simply relegated to fanboys, wondering who would be the victor in a fight between two highly recognizable pop culture figures is almost as natural to being a human being as eating cereal. We’re all about seeing things we love beat the shit out of one another, and one doesn’t need to watch Fight Club five times a day to understand that. YouTube channel Bat in the Sun completely grasps that somewhat strange behavior with their ongoing series “Super Power Beat Down,” and the most recent installment pits Marvel favorite Captain America against Halo‘s Master Chief. Spoiler: if you go for Master Chief, the terrorists have already won.

A co-production with webtainment specialists Machinima, the Beat Downs are always decided by the fans, who get to vote on which opponent wins each battle. Also, each one will usually feature someone heading out into Comic Con or some other fan-friendly gathering to get opinions from relevant cosplayers and noteworthy entertainers. For instance, this installment features comic nerd Damian Beurer walking the floors of Wizard World Portland to see who they think would win, and he ended up talking to Jason David “The Green Power Ranger” Frank, The Walking Dead‘s Michael Rooker, artist Rob Prior, and more.

But nobody is watching this video to see what someone in a Captain America costume thinks about Captain America’s chances in a fan-made video. It’s all about the crisp, low-budget badassery that comprises these fights. And this is pretty excellent throughout, with the mighty Cap’n dropping down to fight Master Chief in what looks like it will be solely a projectile-filled battle, but the fisticuffs soon take over and it makes one wonder why so many Hollywood fight scenes pale in comparison. I mean, I’m sure Captain America: The Winter Soldier is going to have some great action in it, but still.

I’m not going to spoil who wins it for those who haven’t watched yet, but I will say that the death blow is fucking awesome. Plus, the alternate ending is coming on May 1, which will presumably feature the loser becoming the victor. Time and editing heal all wounds.

And speaking of The Walking Dead, check out the video below, which features Lee Everett from Telltale’s video game, Connor Kenway from Assassin’s Creed III, Max Payne, and Far Cry baddie Vaas. Oh, and Halo‘s A.I. mate Cortana is also here for some reason.

More! More! More! Wolverine! Predator! Fight!
