Drax The DestroyerYou have to love social media. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is in its fourth week of production, and actors from the cosmic comic book movie are leaking images from the London set. This new image comes straight from actor Dave Bautista, who plays Arthur Douglas, a man that is murdered and resurrected Drax the Destroyer. Bautista released this behind-the-scenes look at himself deep inside of a water tank. While it’s unclear where in the movie this scene takes place, it’s an interesting look at the production.

We expect to see the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy soon, most likely in front of Thor: The Dark World – the characters could also figure into a post-credits scene at the end of that film. A few weeks ago, comic book fans in attendance of Hall H were treated to watching new footage from Guardians during Marvel’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

The new footage reportedly featured John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Rocket Raccoon, and a badass, yet still funny, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord. Marvel also revealed that actor Djimon Hounsou would play the villain Korath the Pursuer. Hounsou joins an already large cast of villains that includes Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Lee Pace as Ronan The Accuser, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Michael Rooker as Yondu, and Olivia Lovibond in an unspecified role. After the panel, Marvel showed off concept art of the main primary cast.

Bautista has actually been quite active on Twitter, sharing sneak peeks. He tweeted an image that was thought to be of him getting fitted for the Drax makeup, but it wound up being an image of him getting a face cleanse instead. If you go to his Twitter media roll, you’ll find a lot of images of him playing with a Drax action figure. They’re pretty funny.

Not much is known about the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy, or how it connects to The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it centers on Star-Lord/Peter Quill as the film’s main protagonist. Quill is “a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.”

Guardians of the Galaxy also features Glenn Close as Nova Prime. There is no word yet on who will voice Rocket Raccoon, the tree-like alien Groot, or who will play the Mad Titan Thanos. The film is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere on August 1, 2014.
