The Flash Runs Straight Up A Damn Building: This Week’s TV Picks

I feel a squeee coming on.

Growing up on a steady diet of comic books, there are certain things I waited a long time to see brought to life in live action. Wolverine popping out his claws. A truly terrifying vision of the Joker. And this:

Yep, that’s Barry running up the side of a building at superspeed. It’s one of those iconic Flash visuals that the character has been doing on the page for decades, and it’s just really cool to see him doing it for the first time in the show. Little moments like this show that the guys behind the show truly “get it,” and are operating out of a deep love for the source material. We can but hope Zack Snyder’s big-screen Justice League is half as cool.

The Flash airs a new episode, “Plastique,” this Tuesday night at 8/7c on The CW. Here’s the rest of this week’s TV picks!

MONDAY

Gotham (Fox, 8/7c) — “The Mask”

Gordon and Bullock check out a brutal fight club that features bouts between candidates applying for work at a financial firm. Meanwhile, upon his return to school, Bruce makes a new friend.

Sleepy Hollow (Fox, 9/8c) — “Heartless”

Henry sends a succubus that will drain the life forces from its victims, so Ichabod and Abbie set out to stop it.

Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD, 9/8c) — “Out of Darkness”

Hera and Sabine take the Phantom to an abandoned asteroid base to get supplies, but they become stranded there and are attacked by ravenous creatures.

TUESDAY

The Flash (The CW, 8/7c) — “Plastique”

A bomb explodes downtown and the army, led by General Eiling, comes in and takes over the investigation, much to Joe’s dismay. Meanwhile, Wells informs the team that Eiling experimented on his men to turn them into super soldiers; and Joe tries to get Iris to stop writing about ‘the streak.’

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 9/8c) — “The Writing on the Wall”

Bodies with alien writing are found, and the symbols resemble Coulson’s etchings.

Person of Interest (CBS, 10/9c) — “Honor Among Thieves”

Shaw risks being detected by Samaritan when she joins a team of international thieves to monitor the latest POI. Meanwhile, Finch and Root go on a dangerous sabotage mission.

WEDNESDAY

The 100 (The CW, 9/8c) — “Many Happy Returns”

Clarke is betrayed by someone she trusted. Meanwhile, Bellamy, Finn and Murphy (Richard Harmon) race to save a stranger; and tensions rise between Raven and Wick (Steve Talley).

Arrow (The CW, 8/7c) — “Guilty”

Ted Grant is accused of murder when a body is found strung up in the Wildcat gym. In flashbacks, Maseo asks Tatsu to help jog Oliver’s memory so he can remember where an informant for China White stashed key information; and Roy shares a secret with Felicity.

Town of the Living Dead (Syfy, 12 am) — “Robert Englund to the Rescue / That’s a Wrap!”

‘Robert Englund to the Rescue’ — Robert Englund gives John a pep talk, and then the horror icon helps the crew plead their case to the town of Jasper. Meanwhile, Laura takes the role of Robert’s assistant very seriously.

‘That’s a Wrap!’ — Tina and the crew need to find zombie extras for the movie’s final shot, plus they have to perfect a human slingshot, but run into a problem when a member of the team is injured.

FRIDAY

Constantine (NBC, 10/9c) — “A Feast of Friends”

John must take into consideration what exactly he’s willing to sacrifice in his battle with the underworld after an old friend accidentally unleashes a powerful demon with a killer appetite in Atlanta.

Z Nation (Syfy, 10/9c) — “Going Nuclear”

The survivors square off against radioactive zombies when they arrive in a South Dakota town that’s on the brink of nuclear disaster.

SUNDAY

The Walking Dead (AMC, 9/8c) — “Consumed”

Members of the group venture into a familiar location on a heroic rescue mission.
