With Terra Nova cancelled, Fringe eternally on the verge of cancellation and SyFy refusing to pick up shows like Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome; it’s now left to Falling Skies to be the defacto sci-fi television show that isn’t on the BBC. The first season was a little uneven but loaded with potential. Enough potential that you should be locked in for season 2.

Motorcycle gangs versus mechs is good. It looks like Tom Mason’s son has spent the last three months honing his alien-gifted abilities into super-soldier powers too.

More importantly it appears as though Falling Skies has upgraded its special effects a little. One of the big problems with Season 1 was how shoddy some of the more complicated CGI FX, like those alien mechs, looked. They still aren’t perfect but what we saw in this video is an improvement.
