Some things contained below might spoil parts of the upcoming season of Doctor Who for some of you. You have been warned. Proceed at your own risk.

This is not the picture we’re talking about.

Later this year the venerable Doctor Who will dive head first into the seventh series of the modern manifestation. And the times they are a changing’. Reports have already confirmed that this season will deliver many shakeups. Both Amy Ponds (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) will take their final journey with the current Doctor (Matt Smith).

Now a supposedly leaked image from series 7 has appeared online. Some have speculated that it is actually a fan creation, but others theorize it is the image from the season premiere “Asylum of the Daleks” that the BBC is supposed to unveil at one minute past midnight (a new trailer will follow hot on the heels of this pic, arriving online at 6AM). The BBC says, “The new image captures something of the excitement and adventure that await the Doctor—and the audience at home—when the Time Lord returns in Asylum of the Daleks.”

Maybe this is the official picture, maybe it isn’t. Either way, it is pretty damn epic. And here it is:

The real question is, assuming this is legit, is whether or not Amy is supposed to be dead or just wounded? Gillan is slated to appear in the first five episodes of series 7, so if this is really the picture from “Asylum of the Daleks,” it stands to reason that she’s not dead. No matter what the reality of the situation is, something intense is definitely going on.
