Microsoft gave its big E3 presentation this morning, showing off many of the games that will be coming to their next-gen console, the Xbox One. Unsurprisingly, one of the jewels they teased was a new installment in the Halo franchise, which you can check it out below. It’s pretty cryptic when it comes to any specific details about the next installment of the space franchise, but it looks like we’ll be getting more Master Chief, a big-ass robot or two, and way too damn much sand. You got Uncharted 3 in my Halo, damn it!

It was pretty much a given than the Halo series would be making the leap to Xbox One, following up on last fall’s Halo 4. It’s unclear whether this will actually be Halo 5, or another unnumbered installment a la Halo 3: ODST or Halo: Reach, but given that Halo 4 was the first game of a new trilogy, the “Reclaimer trilogy,” it would certainly make sense. As the folks over at our sister site Cinema Blend point out:

The robot has an orange glow, like the Forerunners introduced in Halo 4. Also, Master Chief appears to wear Cortana’s data chip on a chain. This game therefore seems like the next installment in the Reclaimer trilogy.

The new Halo game is set to arrive sometime in 2014, and the Xbox One will hit shelves in November. Microsoft also has that Halo TV series set to premiere on Xbox One, under the auspices of Steven freakin’ Spielberg, so clearly Microsoft isn’t putting this franchise out to pasture anytime soon. You can check out some high-def screen captures from the trailer below.
