E3 2012: Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Features A Really Giant Freakin’ Robot

It’s easy to talk smack about Michael Bay’s Transformers movies. That’s because they’re horrible. But in spite of their failings, they have had the nice side benefit of generating interest in the Transformers IP, which is always nice for a child of the ’80s such as myself. Case in point: the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron videogame that’s set to release August 28th on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It shouldn’t be a surprise that we here at GFR are fans of, well, giant freakin’ robots. And this new trailer for Fall of Cybertron hits us right in the giggle spot because it features lots of giant freakin’ robots beating the piss out of each other, and then culminates with the appearance of an even giant-er freakin’ robot. Check it out, courtesy of GameTrailers.com:

Fall of Cybertron is set on the Transformers’ home world, long before they made their way to Earth and befriended Shia LaBoooooof. Developed by High Moon Studios, the third-person shooter is a follow-up to 2010’s Transformers: War for Cybertron, which got some surprisingly good buzz at the time. The third-person shooter will allow you to play as both Autobots and Decepticons, with each ‘bot serving as a different “class.” Still not convinced? It will also let you play as the Dinobot Grimlock. That’s right: you get to wreak havoc as a giant robotic dinosaur. Consider us sold.
