We’re now only three days away from “The Angels Take Manhattan,” the last Doctor Who episode featuring Amy Pond and Rory as the Doctor’s companions. We don’t know exactly what will happen, but the episode features the return of the Weeping Angels, so it’s probably not going to be pleasant. Your glee or sadness at that thought will vary depending on whether you like or loathe the Ponds. At the very least, however, it’s clear in the video below that the folks from the show were definitely affected by the episode. Take a look:

It’s only appropriate that the episode that sees an end to the Ponds should contain an appearance by their grown daughter, River Song, played by Alex Kingston. It looks like she will indeed be providing backup for the Doctor, or at least some more Angel bait to help improve their chances. Also, what’s worse than Weeping Angels? Weeping Cherubim.

Even if you’re not a fan of the Ponds, the episode looks to be an epic outing that brings together threads that the show has been stitching for seasons: the truth about River Song, the Doctor’s lifelong (her life) relationship with Amy, and the simple truth that the Doctor very much tries not to think about: that sometimes, his companions don’t get a happy ending. Sometimes, his companions die. Will Amy and Rory fit into that category? We’ll have to wait and see…

Doctor Who‘s “The Angels Take Manhattan” airs Saturday night on BBC One and BBC America.
