Doctor Who Series 7 Teaser Has Daleks, Daleks, And More Daleks

Anticipation for Series 7 of BBC’s sci-fi adventure Doctor Who is building and building, even though there is no official release date yet. The Doctor (Matt Smith in this incarnation) has been in some sticky situations over the years, but the one depicted in this brief teaser trailer for the season premiere, “Asylum of the Daleks,” is sure to be one of the strangest you’ve seen. If nothing else this is going to set you on edge until the Series 7 begins.

“Asylum of the Daleks” finds the Doctor, along with his companions the Ponds, Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), smack in the middle of thousands and thousands of Daleks. The Daleks are some of the most ferocious villains faced by the doctor—they’re genetically modified cyborg hybrids, made from the Kaleds, the original inhabitants of the planet Skaro—but in this clip something strange is going on. They’re chanting, “Save the Daleks,” over and over again in unison.

While it’s unclear precisely what this will mean for our time-travelling friends, “Asylum” has been called an “epic Dalek adventure,” and it is also rumored to include “every Dalek ever.” The plot centers around the Doctor being abducted by his enemies and taken to Skaro, where he is forced to venture into the Asylum. This is a snow-covered prison, a place feared even by the Daleks, and is said to contain the most unhinged among them.

All of this adds up to one intense-sounding season premiere. Will the good Doctor in fact save the Daleks? You’ll have to wait and see.
