This just got real! The latest clip from Star Trek Into Darkness features Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) having a war of words with John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch), who is imprisoned inside a cell. But even locked up, Harrison seems to be right where he wants to be.

The clip also shows Kirk’s compassionate side in the face of danger and in the presence of a deadly criminal. John Harrison is definitely intimidating, and the scene is reminiscent of Clarice Starling’s meeting with Dr. Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. We’ll have to wait and see if Harrison eats anybody.

The Star Trek sequel finds the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise returning to Starfleet Headquarters on Earth, only to find an unstoppable force of terror striking from within their ranks. After tremendous destruction and chaos, Kirk leads a manhunt to a planet in a brutal war zone to capture the one-man weapon of mass destruction known as John Harrison. This time it’s personal!

Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof wrote the screenplay for Star Trek Into Darkness, while J.J. Abrams directed the movie. The sequel film will also feature actors Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Bruce Greenwood, and Peter Weller as Starfleet Admiral Marcus.

Star Trek Into Darkness will hit theaters everywhere on May 17th, in 3D and IMAX.
