The E.T. Anniversary Blu-Ray Comes With A Spaceship

You know what really enhances your Blu-ray viewing experience? Over the top absurd packaging. And you probably haven’t seen a package quite like that for the upcoming 30th Anniversary E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial Blu-ray. It comes in its very own spaceship. Take a look for yourself.

Where does the movie go? Does it fit in the spacecraft somehow, or does this toy come with disc? Either way this is a silly, impractical, hilarious way to buy Blu-ray. Try fitting this on your video shelf. I wasn’t entirely convinced that this is real, but you can apparently pre-order the very special edition of E.T. at Amazon for the bargain basement price of $139.98.

E.T. hits Blu-ray in October, and as ridiculous as the special edition packaging may be, the list of bonus features may be even more nuts. Let’s just hope that they decide to forgo the poorly thought out CGI’d version they re-released a few years ago. Replacing guns with cell phones, what the hell were they thinking?

Here’s a complete list of the extras on the E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial Blu-ray (via Collider and Bleeding Cool):
