A few weeks ago, Finnish mobile game publisher Rovio released a string of short trailers that teased their upcoming partnership with Lucasfilms. Angry Birds Star Wars will combine the addictive nature of the mobile game, Angry Birds, with the money-making characters of the Star Wars universe and branding. Today, Rovio released a new trailer that teases the gameplay of Angry Birds Star Wars. Watch the new trailer below:

The teaser also shows a new cutscene for the mobile game, featuring Angry Bird versions of Luke & Leia Skywalker. It seems like this mobile game would take place before The Empire Strikes Back, because Luke & Leia are flirtier than a brother and sister should be. The gameplay is pretty typical of the traditional Angry Birds mobile game, but it features Evil Green Pigs as Tusken Raiders on the desert planet Tatooine, and Imperial AT-AT Walkers on the ice planet Hoth. Now that Rovio has revealed the gameplay for Angry Birds Star Wars, this should excite fans of both properties.

The partnership between Rovio and Lucasfilms extends further than mobile gaming. They will soon release board games, plush toys, action figures, and a new clothing line. Rovio and Lucasfilms are even letting their fans participate in the crossover fun by introducing a new tumblr blog where fans can submit their own Angry Birds Star Wars artwork. There are a few more weeks before Angry Birds Star Wars will be released, so be on the lookout for more teaser trailers and animated short films.

Angry Birds Star Wars will be released on November 8, 2012, on iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, and Windows Phone and Windows 8.
