With the recent news that Amazon has ordered the Zombieland series to pilot, it’s now a question of when we’re actually going to get to watch the show from writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick. A few days ago, Amazon released the first look at the cast of Zombieland, and now they’ve revealed the new poster up above, plus the somewhat cumbersome tagline, “A new dead is dawning.”

As the pilot episode starts production, Amazon is gaining more exclusive content, including Downton Abbey, Under the Dome, and Justified for their online video streaming service Amazon Prime Instant Video. Zombieland is positioned to be the centerpiece of the streaming service, which is currently in third place behind Netflix and Hulu Plus.

The poster is reminiscent of the film version’s poster with Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. The TV version will be more lighthearted and comedic based, but just as gory and bloody as its movie counterpart.

Stepping into the roles of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock are Kirk Ward, Mira Walsh, Tyler Ross, and Izabela Vidovic, respectively. There are also two new characters who are not featured in the poster or in the movie: Fred and Ainsley, a pair of former office workers.

Since the series will premiere online via Amazon’s Prime Instant Video, it will be interesting to see if all the episodes be available from the start, as with Netflix’s House of Cards, or if it be delivered piecemeal week-to-week like traditional network television. Is the Zombieland TV series something you’d be willing to spend $79 a year for the new service? Sound off below.
