Aliens Poster Made Up Entirely Of Stills From Aliens

This falls into the category of things I don’t have the time, patience, or minute attention to detail to do myself, but that I’m really, really glad someone out there does. What this is, is a fan-made poster for Aliens. While that’s not entirely uncommon (as a quick Google search will confirm), what sets this apart is that the image is made up entirely of screenshots from the movie. The resulting mosaic, seen in part below, is constructed from hundreds, maybe thousands of stills from James Cameron’s 1986 sequel to Ridley Scott’s Alien.

Aliens

We’ve seen collage images like this before, but nothing quite this grand. From the normal perspective, it looks like any other replica of that iconic poster of Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) holding Newt, big-ass gun in hand. When you zoom in on it, however, you can see how many pieces went into this.

I can’t imagine sitting there and going through Aliens frame by frame, matching tones and hues to the original image. That’s tedious, painstaking work, but goddamn the finished product is something pretty freaking cool. At this point anyone working on similar projects should either just quit and walk away, save themselves the headaches and eyestrain, or seriously up their game. In order to top this, you’re going to have to turn in something spectacular, not to mention wholly ambitious. My puny little non-artistic brain can’t even conceive of what that might be, but it will be pretty exciting to find out.
