Aliens Invade Your Groceries In H-E-B’s 2012 Super Bowl Spot

They don’t exist outside of Texas but H-E-B is quietly the best grocery chain in the country, in my opinion. Apparently they’re also sci-fi friendly because they’ve purchased time for a spot at this year’s Super Bowl, and it’s infested with aliens.

Here’s the spot…

I’m not sure how effective this is at making me want to shop there, does anyone care where aliens buy their cereal? But it is a pretty well done parody of the standard Hollywood movie alien invasion formula. Actually it’s better than a lot of the Hollywood alien invasion formula movies. I’d definitely rather watch this than the next abortion put out by M. Night Shyamalan.

Side note: what is it with aliens and Hawaiian shirts? Whether it’s Roger on American Dad or ALF or even this guy, aliens seem to love a nice button-up floral print.
