Adorable Star Wars/Disney Mash-Ups

Now that Disney owns Star Wars do you think that some strange crossovers are in store for the two enterprises? Probably not, but that won’t stop people from speculating, nor will it stop people more creative than me from doing things like mashing up beloved characters from George Lucas’ space opera with those that fall under ever-expanding umbrella of the Mouse.

Like these images from artist Bruno Sousa.

Do we now live in a world where we will one day bear witness to a mash-up of Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story films and a stormtrooper? The possibility is much more frightening than Buzz, but it is also way cuter and cuddlier than one of the actual Imperial soldiers.

And then there’s Yoda. Somehow you can’t help but feel that his sage words of wisdom might not come across as serious, important, and weighty if his wrinkly little noggin was covered with a pair of Mickey Mouse ears. Also, the Jedi master’s, ahem, unusual speech patterns could seem slightly silly when wearing a hat with a pair of cartoon rodent ears stitched to the top.

This last one is by far my favorite. WALL-E is about the most charming, delightful robotic character that you’ll ever come across. While his BFF EVE definitely has badass tendencies and can handle her business with the best of them, she’s nowhere near the level of Darth Vader. You can’t trust that Vader has all the best in mind for WALL-E. Just look at that evil glint in his synthetic eye, and you can’t help but imagine that lightsaber doing terrible things to the little guy.
