If you’ve been keeping tabs, it may look like NBC’s post-apocalyptic drama Revolution has been robbing the grave of Fox’s 24. Alum Kim Raver pops up occasionally as the wife of Captain Neville (Giancarlo Esposito). It was recently reported that Leslie Hope is joining the cast as the president of the Georgia Federation, one of the new states feuding with the Monroe Republic. Now fellow 24 vet Annie Wersching has signed on for the revolution as well.
Wersching will play a woman named Emma, who was Miles Matheson’s (Billy Burke) first true love. Here’s where problems arise: Sebastian Monroe (David Lyons), Miles’ former BFF and leader of the Monroe Republic, is also acquainted with Emma, and it turns out that he’s a wee bit obsessed with her. So, when Emma resurfaces, the rivalry between Miles and Monroe gets even more personal. And here you didn’t think that was possible. The two already have certain issues to work out—from the promos it looks like they’ll be using swords, machine guns, and heavily armed helicopters to hash out their differences—and Emma’s arrival will only complicate things further.
There’s no word whether or not Wersching will be a regular, around for a single arc, or if her character will be a one-off. At the moment she appears to be relatively busy, with upcoming appearances on Body of Proof, Dallas, and Touch, which reteams her with 24 co-star, Kiefer Sutherland.
Revolution returns from an extended midseason hiatus on March 25th, for the 11th episode of the highly rated freshman year. Wersching will debut as Emma in episode 15.
