PlusOneHeaderLast week we shared the trailer for +1, an oddball flick that takes a wild college house party and adds a generous dose of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers-style paranoia and sci-fi craziness. The flick’s distributor, IFC Midnight, has released a ton of new images from +1, and some of them are borderline Not Safe for Work, so think twice before you scroll down if you’re covertly reading this at work. And if you are and your employer monitors all your web surfing, we’d just like to say hi there, management or I.T. people! Your employee has excellent taste in websites, so don’t be too hard on them. Scientific studies have proven that GFR readers are 73% more productive than other workers. Also 93% more attractive.

With a cast full of pretty people, the setup for +1 is straight out of any number of forgettable party picks. After returning from college to surprise his girlfriend Jill (Ashley Hinshaw) David (Rhys Wakefield) gets caught making out with somebody else. With their relationship on the rocks, both unwittingly wind up at the same house party, along with David’s friend Teddy (Logan Miller). That would be a recipe for all manner of angsty drama, but they soon have bigger problems, in the form of pod people. Or time travel. Or maybe robots filled with blue goop? Nah, The World’s End already did that.

Let’s back to those NSFW images we were talking about. There ain’t no party like a doppelganger party ‘cause a doppelganger party don’t stop, because even if you get tired, there’s another one of you to tag in, amirite?

+1 earned some solid buzz at SXSW and the Fantasia Film Fest, so it might be one to keep on your radar. It hits theaters and OnDemand on September 20. And yes, of course it includes a pandering sequence where one of the female cast makes out with her duplicate self. ‘cause that’s just how Hollywood rolls.

In this supernatural thriller, three college friends go to the biggest party of the year, each looking for something different: love, sex and a simple human connection. When a mysterious phenomenon disrupts the party, it lights a fuse on what will become the strangest night anyone has ever seen. As the three friends struggle to find what they’re looking for, the party quickly descends into a chaos that challenges if they can stay friends or if they can even stay alive.
