Priceline Is Going To Kill William Shatner

The old adage insists that dying is easy, comedy is hard. Well, William Shatner is going to try to combine the two in an upcoming Priceline ad, bringing an end to over a decade of silliness as that company’s pitchman. Yes, after 14 long years of shilling for Priceline, the online travel site is showing the actor their appreciation — by killing him.

Shatner’s demise will come in a new Priceline commercial set to debut today, and here it is…

Even facing impending death, Shatner still has our pocketbooks in mind. His final words: “Save yourselves…some money.”

While this will put an end to Shatner’s ad appearances as Priceline’s “Negotiator,” he is still under contract with the company. Priceline hasn’t said what his future involvement might entail. Maybe he’ll stage a dramatic return in a few years and blow up the Priceline boardroom.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Shatner and Priceline have had difficulty. You may recall that time they fired him and replaced him with another familiar face…


As for Shatner, he says he’s grieving, but points out that “It’s not the first time I’ve had an iconic character die off.” Sadly, his Priceline death looks to be a lot less embarrassing than the ignoble end of James Tiberius Kirk. Oh my…
