Got several grand just sitting around gathering dust? Wondering what to do with all that space in your back yard? Like dinosaurs? If the answer to all three questions is yes, then the misfortune of an Ohio tourist trap could be your gain. The Prehistoric Forest roadside attraction closed down last year, and now they’re having a liquidation sale to clear out their collection of dinosaur replicas and other prehistoric props.
The prices range anywhere from a couple grand to five figures. That might seem steep, but really it’s a small price to pay for a giant fiberglass mastodon that shoots water out its snout, up to a range of 20 feet. Think of the party applications! Fill that sucker with beer and you’ll be the stuff of legend. And it can be yours for a very reasonable $13,000. Or you could throw down an extra two thousand dollars and get a 13-foot plesiosaurus that actually floats. That’d look pretty kick-ass in the family pool.
Too steep? Don’t worry, the Prehistoric Forest has something for every price range! Well, not really, but it does have some cheaper items that are still pretty cool. You can take home a seven-and-a-half-foot apatosaurus for $4,000 (name him Judd), an eight-foot stegosaurus for $6,000, or even a cute little pteranodon for a mere $1,200. My personal favorite: the life-size, 10-foot-tall giant three-toed sloth. I would put him in my living room and name him Pokey. And a bargain at a mere $4,000.
You can check out all the available props and pictures at Prehistoric Forest’s website, and you can see the ones we’ve mentioned in the gallery below. And if any of our readers actually buy one, be sure to send us pics.
