New Red Dwarf X Clip Brings A Welcome Return To Form

This fall when British sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf makes its long-awaited return to the airwaves, it will bring with it the classic feel that fans love, and that was largely absent from the 2009 mini-series Back to Earth. A new clip from the tenth season, Red Dwarf X, demonstrates this return to form.

A Spacesuited First Look At Last Days On Mars

Since Warner Bros has put their Akira project in suspended animation (no pun intended), Irish director Ruairi Robinson, who was supposed to direct that film, was set to helm a sci-fi/horror film for Universal titled Last Days On Mars. There’s no telling when this film will be released, it just finished principle photography last week. Universal has released a first look at the character of Vincent (Liev Schreiber) in full space gear looking at what appears to be blood on the window of a spaceship.

Red Dwarf might be the geekiest television program of my generation. It’s British, it’s sci-fi, and it’s a sitcom. Just wallow in all that for a moment. The news of a tenth season—the first new episodes since the “Back to Earth” arc in 2009, itself a full decade after series eight—was music to the ears of hardcore fans.

Filming has reportedly finished, and a couple of photos, via everyone’s favorite short attention span social networking site—Twitter—show the tenth season of Red Dwarf in various stages of post production.
