The Marvel Cinematic Universe has provided us with some incredible superheroes.

Every great superhero, however, needs a great villain to do battle with. That’s where this list comes along. We’ve put together some of the better visual villains in the MCU!

Green Goblin

Spider-Man’s archnemesis the Green Goblin has been tormenting Peter Parker for almost as long as he’s been doing whatever a spider can.

The all-green suit and yellow eyes on the hovercraft do make for a great villain costume!

Ronan The Accuser

Ronan the Accuser is the Kree ruler and one of the main enemies of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

His creepy-looking demeanor and large presence are making him someone we would not want to get on the bad side of.

Hela

It’s hard to be much more of a villain than Hela, who is the goddess of death.

Her helmet which she wears in battle makes her look even more powerful and someone we want to avoid at all costs!

Ayesha

One of Ayesha’s powers is something that a lot of people would love to have—the ability to prevent aging.

Her golden-like appearance may seem peaceful, but just ask the Guardians of the Galaxy how peaceful she really is.

Kaecilius

Kaecilius wanted to bring other dimensions to Earth which he thought would allow him to see his wife who had passed.

This was something that Doctor Strange did not want to let happen.

Red Skull

The Red Skull is the sole reason that the American government created Captain America.

The all-black trench coat combined with the bright red skull makes him look extremely intimidating to everyone he comes in contact with.

Crossbones

Crossbones has an insane amount of hand-to-hand combat training.

He’s also very skilled with weapons and a powerful suit, making him a very tough opponent for Captain America.

The Abomination

While it may be hard to believe, the Abomination is even stronger than the Hulk.

His larger-than-life body that is covered in reptile scales makes him a crazy villain in the MCU.

Thanos

Thanos is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel world.

Armed with the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos takes on the Avengers in the Infinity War, an epic battle in the Marvel Universe.

Yondu

Yondu was the last person in his species to survive.

Yondu is captivating in his personality and his calming yet deadly ability to control an arrow just by whistling, leaving many regretting coming in contact with him.

Yellowjacket

Doctor Darren Cross created the Yellowjacket suit in an attempt to replicate the one Ant-Man has.

He would then attempt to attack Ant-Man with it but would be unsuccessful.

Killmonger

Killmonger earned the nickname when he was in the U.S. military.

He is an extremely skilled physical fighter who has superhuman strength. He takes on the Black Panther in an epic battle.

Dr. Otto Octavius aka “Doctor Octopus”

Doctor Octopus is a criminal mastermind and also is a former nuclear scientist.

He can control his metal tentacles with his mind which results in a thrilling battle with Spider-Man.

Whiplash

Whiplash worked undercover at Stark Industries.

This allowed him to build his suit with materials that he stole from the company. His suit has electrically charged whips that can cut through just about anything.

Nebula

Nebula is someone who claims to be the granddaughter of Thanos.

She’s turned into a space pirate and tried to conquer an empire. She battles the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers before joining the Guardians for good.

Taskmaster

Taskmaster’s powers are that he can copy anyone’s movements after only seeing them once.

This fighter pilot-type suit and helmet make him look pretty cool while doing it. A great match for the Black Widow and the Avengers.

Mysterio

Mysterio is an incredibly intelligent person who is a master at special effects, hypnosis, and has the ability to teleport.

The fishbowl-like helmet and green beams shooting out of his hands create quite the challenge for Spider-Man.

Loki

The MCU has Loki to thank for the Avengers.

It’s after Loki wanted to destroy his brother Thor on Earth that the Avengers were formed. He is one of the most well-known villains of the MCU.
