Rogue Company is a third-person shooter from developer First Watch Games and distributed by Hi-Rez Studios. The game concerns itself with teams working together in a tactical fashion to take out enemy teams and complete objectives. The gameplay is achieved by players taking control of “Rogues” who all have different weaponry and powers. Through various collaborative efforts, the game has seen plenty of different maps, skins, and new rogues added. Famed streamer, Dr. Disrespect, built a map and had a skin of himself added to the game in October of 2020, which also saw Rogue Company hit eight million players. Now the newest added character is being added to the list of controllable Rogues. None other than John Rambo himself. Sylvester Stallone took to his Instagram to show off the first look of the character. You can see the image below:
With Rogue Company expanding its promotional offers to fans, it comes as no surprise that a character like Rambo would be added to the lineup. Though the game is free to play, the studio depends on in-game purchases from players to continue providing updates such as extra Rogues, weapons, and skins. While Sylvester Stallone may not have lent his voice to the game, he is still excited to show off one of his most iconic characters now being part of another video game. Rambo had famously been added to Mortal Kombat 11 and Call of Duty: Warzone. The man is clearly good at killing, so naturally, he belongs in these games.
The above cinematic trailer shows Rambo making easy work of soldiers via the usage of his iconic compound bow. The in-game Rogue in which Rambo will be a skin for is called the Seeker. It will cost 2,000 Rogue bucks to purchase the Seeker alongside the Rambo skin that is based on the 2008 film of the same name. Sylvester Stallone is certainly amped up by the fact that he is going to appear in yet another medium for one of the most beloved characters that he has ever portrayed.
It seems like Rogue Company is seeing the value in bridging the gap between popular film franchises and video games. That is what makes Fortnite so popular, especially when they bring in random characters from some of the most beloved franchises. Some of those characters have included Thanos, Kratos, Spider-Man, and many others. Rogue Company would likely have to stick to more gun-crazy characters, but with Rambo joining the fold, it could open the door for even more 1980s action icons to enter. Robocop and The Terminator would be perfect additions to this third-person shooter.
Rogue Company is free to play and currently on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is currently in its second season with no signs of slowing down and adding Rambo to the mix is sure to make things that much bloodier. The fact that Sylvester Stallone is posting about the game should be enough to get anyone excited. The Rambo Cobra update is currently live, so jump in and do your best Stallone impression.
