The Paramount Network has released the trailer for Yellowstone Season 5. The clip for the show, which returns with two episodes on November 13th, was so popular that it shattered records with 14.4 million views and 1.7 million engagements within the first 24 hours of being released. That’s three times as many organic views and six times more organic engagements than the fourth season trailer, Deadline reports.

The anticipation for Yellowstone Season 5 was also palpable on social media, with over 30,000 mentions of the trailer. Much like its views and engagement, conversations that referenced the clip quadrupled when compared to the previous season. The latest teaser was also shared across social platforms 190,000 times, ranking on TikTok and Facebook as the top two most-watched television-related videos that day.

The trailer for Yellowstone Season 5 opens with Kevin Costner’s John Dutton being sworn in as Governor of Montana. And in one of his first power moves, the patriarch fires his entire top staff and appoints his trusted (yet volatile) daughter Beth as his chief of staff. “We’re already at war,” Dutton says of his many enemies, including Caroline Warner who is the CEO of a company planning to buy out landowners to build an airport.

The one-minute clip then previews the chaos that follows, proving that power has a price. Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone premiered on the Paramount Network in June 2018. The story revolves around the Dutton family, owners of the largest ranch in the United States. It also deals with the conflict with bordering Native reservations, national parks, and land developers. Yellowstone Season 5 was renewed earlier this year and will air in two installments of seven episodes each.

Reprising their roles from previous seasons, Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, and Gil Birmingham, will all be featured in Yellowstone Season 5. Since its debut, the series has been so popular with viewers that it spawned several spin-off series. The Yellowstone origin story limited series 1883, which ended in February, starred Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret, the first Duttons to settle in Montana.

Following Yellowstone Season 5, Taylor Sheridan’s 1923 is set to debut on Paramount+ and will follow an earlier generation of the Dutton family with Helen Mirren as family matriarch Cara, who’s married to Jacob Dutton, played by Harrison Ford. The pair portray the brother and sister-in-law to Tim McGraw’s James Dutton from 1883, as the area deals with The Great Depression, prohibition, and a historically crippling drought.

Paramount also turned a planned second installment of 1883 into a new limited series called Bass Reeves, starring David Oyelowo as the legendary lawmaker. Reeves was the first Black Deputy U.S. marshal west of the Mississippi. There is no official release date for the show. An additional spinoff called 6666 takes place on Texas’ legendary 6666 Ranch, which was featured in season four of the flagship series. But for now, fans can tune in to Yellowstone Season 5 when it reruns on screens in just over a month.
