Yellowstone 1923 Adds Sci-fi Legend
Robert Patrick has been cast in the Yellowstone 1923 spinoff.
The Yellowstone spinoff series, 1923, has added Robert Patrick to its growing cast. Patrick now joins a cast that includes Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in the starring roles. While everyone is patiently waiting for Yellowstone Season 5 to premiere in November 1923 is starting to come along quite nicely.
The Yellowstone 1923 spinoff takes place 40 years after the events of 1883, a prequel story that told the story of how the Dutton family began to rise to prominence. The new 1923 spinoff series will be following James Badge Dale as John Dutton Sr., the grown-up son of 1883’s James Dutton, played by Tim McGraw. Robert Patrick will be taking on the role of Sheriff William McDowell, who is a friend of the Dutton family.
Yellowstone exploded onto the scene and has since become a cultural phenomenon. On top of 1883, 1923, and 6666 are all spinoffs that were developed to further tell the story of the Dutton family. The cast for 1923 also includes Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, and Julia Schlaepfer.
It has already been established that Harrison Ford will be playing Jacob Dutton, the brother of James Dutton from 1883, and will be the patriarch of the Dutton Family during the events of the 1923 spinoff. Mirren is meant to take on the role of Cara Dutton, Jacob’s wife. Robert Patrick being added as the sheriff in 1923, with Ford and Mirren leading the way, might make this spinoff just as good as the mainline series.
As previously mentioned, Yellowstone Season 5 is going to air on November 13 on the Paramount Network, which is not to be confused with the Paramount streaming app. 1923 will follow shortly after, as it has been given a release date of December, and though there are going to be two different timelines being shown at the same time, this is huge news for fans of the Dutton family. Robert Patrick could be pulling double duty with 1923 and Peacemaker Season 2.
Robert Patrick portrayed Peacemaker’s father, Auggie Smith, in the first season of the series. It would make sense that he is going to be reprising his role as Auggie in the second season of the series, which has been confirmed to be worked on by James Gunn. Though there are no timelines for Peacemaker Season 2, we could see Robert Patrick in that and 1923 around the same time.
Robert Patrick being cast in 1923 is perfect, as the man can play the hardened character better than anyone else. He rose to prominence when he portrayed the emotionless and murderous T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgement Day. He also played the horrible father figure in Peacemaker Season 1 quite well too.
Robert Patrick will make his 1923 debut when the series premieres in December, as we get to see him star alongside the legendary Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. The new spinoff series is shaping up to be quite a good show, and it could be one of the final projects that Ford is in, as there are rumors of his retirement looming. Either way, we can’t wait to see this cast altogether in the Wild West.
