The Marvel Universe has gained another great! While rumors have been swirling surrounding stars including Adam Driver and Hayden Christensen in making their big MCU debut, Variety has confirmed that The Good Place star William Jackson Harper will be joining the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. As of right now, the actor’s role is being kept on the hush-hush, so let the speculation begin!

William Jackson Harper joins a star-studded call sheet for Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 that will feature the return of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the titular roles, respectively. Keeping it all in the Marvel family, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas will be back to reprise their roles from both 2015’s Ant-Man, as well as 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Audiences will also see the grown-up face of Scott Lang’s (Rudd) daughter, Cassie, played by Kathryn Newton, a character who was previously seen in Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame albeit at a younger age.

While she may be all grown up with a skill set and braggable IQ, a trailer released this week revealed that Cassie is at the center of the trouble for the next film when she accidentally sucks her dad and the others into the quantum realm.

The big oopsie-doopsie drops the team in a world far from their own where they meet one of the many versions of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror – the film’s big bad – who gives them a you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours decision to make. Along with William Jackson Harper, the new Ant-Man film will see the arrival of fan-favorite-turned-canceled actor Bill Murray join the fold of MCU characters.

William Jackson Harper has a busy docket outside the quantum realm of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as he’ll next appear in the Cory Finley, helmed sci-fi flick, Landscape Invisible Hand as well as the book-turned-Netflix limited series, a Man in Full. This was penned by David E. Kelley and will be directed by Regina King.

Jumping into the world of animation, William Jackson Harper will lend his vocal talents to the MTV and Tracee Ellis Ross Daria-based spinoff feature, Jodie. With a completely stacked list of projects coming his way, Harper is keeping himself incredibly busy for the foreseeable future.

Harper’s biggest break came in the form of the starring character, Chidi Anagonye in NBC’s hit comedy series, The Good Place. The four-season running production would ultimately earn the performer an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Comedy Actor.

Most recently, William Jackson Harper was seen in Peacock’s comedy thriller series, The Resort. Fans of William Jackson Harper are certainly going to be excited to see the actor make the huge step from comedy to action in the upcoming Ant-Man film.

Quantumania will mark the first project coming out of Marvel’s Phase 5 that will also see the arrival of features including the final Guardians of the Galaxy installment, The Marvels, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, and Blade.

As for shows, we can expect to see the debut seasons of Secret Invasion, Echo, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Daredevil: Born Again as well as Season 2 of Loki. With the exciting news that William Jackson Harper will be having his breakthrough MCU performance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, we can’t wait to hear what other actors will be signing on for all the upcoming Marvel-based projects.
