Vin Diesel Is Taking Over Netflix With Three Pulse-Pounding Movies In The Top Ten
All three of Vin Diesel's Riddick films are in Netflix's Top 10 right now!
Vin Diesel is killing it over on Netflix. The Fast and Furious franchise’s lead actor is filling up the Top 10 charts with three big movies from his also-famous science fiction Riddick trilogy. Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Riddick are all available on the streaming platform at the moment, and all three of them are in the Top 10. At the time of this writing, FlixPatrol reports that Pitch Black is number nine on the charts, The Chronicles of Riddick is number seven, and Riddick is number four.
If you are preparing a watch party, the first film in Vin Diesel’s epic space adventure series you should watch on Netflix is Pitch Black, in which Vin Diesel stars as a murderer named Riddick who is brought to a planet that appears to be deserted. Appearances can be deceiving, though, and once night falls, the planet comes alive with alien life. The aliens’ only weakness is light, so the pilot and her passengers must rely on Riddick who, much like Liam Neeson in Taken, has a very particular set of skills.
He, too, finds light to be a bit too bright, but he also has incredible night vision that he and the others must use to survive.
The second of Vin Diesel’s Riddick movies to watch on Netflix is The Chronicles of Riddick, which many fans mistakenly believe is the first in the series. The story takes place five years after the events of the first film, and Riddick is once again an escaped convict. This time, though, he is roped into a galactic war led by Lord Marshal and the Necromongers, one of which is played by none other than The Boys’ Karl Urban.
Riddick must put a stop to the Necromongers’ plans while trying to save a friend, and while keeping just out of reach of the bounty hunters on his tail.
Finally, the third of Vin Diesel’s Riddick movies on Netflix is Riddick. In the final (for now) film in the series, Riddick is still on the run from bounty hunters from all over the galaxy, and this time he is betrayed and left for dead on a planet on which he can only rely on his own instincts to survive. Soon, though, he is found by the bounty hunters, who realize that he actually lured them there himself as a way to get revenge.
Riddick is the third film in the series, but interestingly, it is more similar to Pitch Black. It seems like more of a true sequel to that film than to The Chronicles of Riddick, but all three are must-watch for Vin Diesel fans with a Netflix subscription. There have also been reports from Vin Diesel himself that there is a fourth Riddick film in the works: Furya, named for the planet Riddick hails from.
However, this film has been in talks since 2014 without much to show for it, so we will have to wait and see if this film will make it to Netflix one day as well.
