See Vin Diesel Talk Family In The Ridiculously Long Trailer For Fast X

Vin Diesel talks a lot about family in the explosive official trailer for Fast X.

If you’ve been waiting to see Vin Diesel and the rest of the family in the first Fast X trailer, you’re about to get a lot of it. In every sense of the word. Not only is there plenty of talk about family, but there’s also Jason Momoa in villain mode and Diesel dropping out of a plane in a muscle car throughout this nearly four-minute trailer:

While the plot for Vin Diesel’s Fast X was somewhat under wraps, it’s all out on the table now. The trailer reveals that Jason Momoa’s villainous Dante is the son of Fast Five‘s antagonist Hernan Reyes. Since Dom and the crew took out Reyes, Dante is back 12 years later and out for revenge.

Of course, Dante’s target is the one thing that is most important to the Fast and Furious franchise — family. We find out in the trailer that Dante’s target is Dom’s son. It definitely seems like Vin Diesel is pulling out all the stops for Fast X, which seems like a fitting beginning of the end for the high-octane franchise.

Along with Vin Diesel, Fast X will also bring back familiar faces such as Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron. Along with Jason Momoa, the new blood includes Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Leo Abelo Perry, and Rita Moreno. Larson plays a rouge Agency representative, Ritchson plays the new head of the Agency, Melchior plays a street racer, Perry plays Dom’s son, and Moreno plays Dom and Mia’s grandmother.

The film had a slight hiccup when director Justin Lin decided to drop out in the first week of filming. The studio scrambled to find a replacement and brought Louis Leterrier in to replace him while Lin stayed on as a producer. While that stalled filming time cost the studio some big bucks, there’s little doubt that Vin Diesel and the crew will bring in an impressive box office haul for Fast X.

Vin Diesel Fast X

Vin Diesel will start wrapping up the long-running Fast and Furious franchise with Fast X. The film is set to be the first in a two-part finale for the series, so expect there to be a cliffhanger or some plot threads left dangling at the end of this film. The globe-trotting endeavor is set to take place in locations like Los Angeles, Rome, Brazil, London, Portugal, and even Antarctica, so it should certainly be an explosive and action-packed sendoff.

Of course, there is also always the possibility that we could see some spin-offs in the future. While Vin Diesel might be done with the mainline series after Fast X, there’s no reason to believe that some of the characters couldn’t go off on their own adventures ala Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw. Of course, that’s a conversation for another day.

In any case, you can see Vin Diesel and the rest of the family return in Fast X this spring. The film will be hitting theaters on May 19. Make sure to stay tuned for more news on the franchise until then.
