Thor: Love And Thunder Going To Set A Marvel Record?
Based on a new rumor, it appears as if Thor: Love and Thunder is aiming to be one of the longest films in the MCU, and it would break a huge record if true.
While we all patiently wait to see Thor: Love and Thunder, more details seem to be coming out about the new MCU film. That’s to say, that details and rumors have been spilling forth, and exciting fans around the world about the newest chapter in Thor Odinson’s journey. Another rumor has surfaced, which pertains to the runtime of the new film. According to rumors online, Thor: Love and Thunder is set for a 2-hour and 30-minute runtime.
We want to reiterate that this is only a rumor currently, but should it be proven true, this will make Thor: Love and Thunder reach a huge record within the MCU. At 2 hours and 30 minutes, it would make this new Thor entry the third-longest film in the entirety of the MCU. Beating out fourth place Avengers: Infinity War by one minute. However, Eternals and Avengers: Endgame are still longer. Still, at 2 hours and 30 minutes, that would be quite a long movie in terms of telling this new epic story. Then again, this supposed long runtime might be more beneficial to catch everyone up on all the happenings that have transpired since we last saw Thor, or Fat Thor, that is. Also, there does need to be some significant time taken to show how Jane Foster has become worthy enough to wield Mjolnir and become The Mighty Thor.
Taika Waititi is currently one of the most celebrated directors currently, and he is becoming an even more celebrated actor. Have you seen Our Flag Means Death? It’s spectacular. Fans might also know the man as the voice of Thor’s new best friend, Korg. All that was said to paint a picture that it would make total sense for Waititi to make Thor: Love and Thunder 2 hours and 30 minutes long. The director and actor has also publicly stated that this film is the best thing that he has ever done, so naturally, there might be some length attached to this new Marvel entry. We would certainly welcome it, as we are willing to see the backstory that will be provided for Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher too.
Thor: Love and Thunder is going to be swinging its way into theaters on July 8th, and we are certainly going to get the answers we seek about where Thor is going to go next. Also, if the film is truly going to be 2 hours and 30 minutes long. The MCU is generally good at keeping its biggest secrets hidden from the public, but sometimes things do slip through the cracks. We might see this detail confirmed soon or see it easily debunked just as fast. Either way, this film is going to be great. Well, we hope it is.
