Actors often have to adapt to their roles by implementing accents, which some actors are far better at doing than others. Bella Ramsey had to do just that for her upcoming role as Ellie in The Last of Us series, as she had to enact an American accent. Ramsey was on The Late Late Show With James Corden where she stated that learning cuss words helped her perfect her accent, as she stated, “The character that I play in this show, The Last of Us, Ellie, curses every two seconds, so that was definitely important.”

James Corden asks Bella Ramsey how she faired in learning to do an American accent for The Last of Us, as most British people have trouble doing one at all. Ramsey revealed that she had a dialect coach, but also she learned rather quickly by having to cuss so much as the character Ellie. Ellie truly doesn’t have a filter, which makes her a compelling character, because she just always states what she is thinking at any given moment.

Bella Ramsey is certainly getting a lot of attention, as she is set to star alongside fellow Game of Thrones alum, Pedro Pascal. The Last of Us series is a direct adaptation of the massively popular video game of the same name, which was created by Neil Druckmann. Druckmann is also serving as an executive producer on the series and helped to write it.

Bella Ramsey The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us follows Joel and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), as they travel across the country, which is plagued by monsters and twisted people that kill to survive. A disease has gone rampant, turning humans into foul creatures that will kill anyone they come across. However, Ellie is discovered to be immune from the virus that has plagued mankind, and now Joel must take her to a facility that will determine what to do with her.

The Last of Us stars Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller, Bella Ramsey as Ellie Williams, Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy Miller, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Jeffrey Piece as Perry, and Nick Offerman as Bill. The new series will be premiering tomorrow on HBO and HBO Max and looks quite exciting everywhere. One of the creatures from the story was shown in the trailer, known as a Clicker, and it looks just as vile as it did in the video game.

The early reactions for The Last of Us have already garnered an impressive 98% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. One of the promises of the series is that is very identical to the video game, which should be the case considering Druckmann is on board to help guide the series. We honestly cannot wait to see it.

The Last of Us premieres tomorrow on HBO and HBO Max at 9 PM EST. The first episode is stated to run around 85 minutes long, and will likely be quite emotional, as the opening of the video game is quite crushing. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey certainly look up to the task of delivering some great performances that could make this new series the best video game adaptation ever.
