The Boys is one of Amazon’s biggest hits, so it was no surprise to hear that it would be getting a season 4. It looks like filming for the fourth season is now well underway, as Antony Starr recently took to Twitter to post a picture of the original members of the in-universe superhero team The Seven. Starr reminisced on the first season, adding that the fourth season is now beginning. Check out the post below:

As Starr says, the first season does certainly seem like a long time ago. Fans of The Boys will be well aware that the iteration of The Seven in the above post did not last very long. In the picture, from left to right, you can see Nathan Mitchell’s Black Noir, Antony Starr’s Homelander, Dominique McElligott’s Queen Maeve, Jessie T. Usher’s A-Train, Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, Chace Crawford’s The Deep, and Alex Hassell’s Translucent. Since that first episode graced our screens, Hughie (Jack Quaid) nixed Translucent, The Deep was kicked off the team and then welcomed back, and the most recent season saw what might be the end of Black Noir. Queen Maeve is also off the team, as she faked her own death and left town while Starlight has fully defected and joined The Boys on their quest to take down Homelander for good. The Boys season 4 will definitely have a lot of plot to take care of.

The Boys’ third season was one of its best yet, with Jensen Ackles appearing as the Captain America-esque psycho Soldier Boy. While Soldier Boy was put back on ice at the end of the season, it doesn’t seem like it will be the last we see of the character. Homelander also finally revealed some of his true nature to the world at large, killing a protester in front of a crowd, who ended up cheering him on. His son Ryan also chose Homelander over Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher at the end of the season, which doesn’t bode well for the titular team.

With The Boys Season 4 now officially filming, fans are sure to come out in droves with their theories for the next round of episodes. For now, plot details are being kept pretty tightly under wraps. Based on what we saw in the final episodes of Season 3, it seems likely that we’ll be seeing Billy Butcher continue to deal with the consequences of taking Compound V. Also, it seems like Ryan is set to become a much bigger character, as Homelander is bound to start having a negative effect on his superpowered son. This was confirmed when Cameron Crovetti was upgraded to series regular for Season 4.

There are also going to be some new supes in the mix, with Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward joining the cast. Curry will appear as Firecracker, while Heyward will play Sister Sage. Creator Eric Kripke also posted the title page for the season premiere script, so we know the episode will be titled “Department of Dirty Tricks.” The episode is written by David Reed and directed by Phil Sgriccia. There’s no premiere date for The Boys Season 4 as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
