When it first started, it didn’t seem like it would be the case, but Yellowstone has become such a behemoth for Paramount that it can attract some of the biggest names in show business. There are all kinds of actors and actresses who seem like they want to mix it up with the Dutton family in some shape or form. And one of the next ones to do it could be Sylvester Stallone.

The Hollywood legend has some reasons for possibly wanting to get involved with the series and intimated that he would welcome the opportunity to join the show in some shape or form. Whether it happens or not is still up in the air, though there seems to be plenty of creative overlap and connections for Stallone that could make something like this feasible.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about his upcoming series Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone was asked about the possibility of maybe making his way into a Yellowstone story before it was all said and done. This question didn’t just float out there, pulled randomly from the bright blue Montana sky. Far from it. Stallone is currently working with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan who also created Tulsa King. And it appears the two have known each other for quite some time. So it seems that Sly has maybe had it in his mind that Yellowstone could be in the cards as well. Check out part of what Sylvester Stallone had to say about the possibility.

“Absolutely…He’s (Kevin Costner as John Dutton) finally run into a guy who’s like, ‘I’d just like to have a retirement home. Do you mind if I buy your entire ranch? I got an offer you can’t refuse.’ … That’d be great. Good man.”

Maybe Sylvester Stallone is speaking a bit tongue-in-cheek here considering the references he uses, but it would be shocking if there wasn’t interest here. And he did mention having been friends with Kevin Costner for quite some time now. The mafioso reference stems from the plot of Tulsa King which has Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi as a mobbed-up ex-con who’s just been released from prison after 25 years. During that time he’d kept his mouth shut about dealings on the streets only to get home and realize that he’s being sent to Tulsa to run mob operations there.

Tulsa King looks like it’s shaping up to be something of a fish-out-of-water scenario for Stallone’s character who has to come to grips with the criminal world of that city operating much differently than it does on the East Coast.

Sylvester Stallone also let on that he and Taylor Sheridan had known each for sometime, even before the latter had made it big with some critically-acclaimed films and of course, Yellowstone. He and Stallone had met when they were participating in barrel racing. Sheridan ended up buying a horse from Stallone’s daughter. So they had some background there. This is the first time the two are working together on a project though.

Production hasn’t begun yet, but Sheridan’s track record is pretty excellent and Stallone, in the right roles, is one of the best to ever do it. There’s a chance Tulsa King really hits. And then, who knows, Yellowstone could be next.
