For the past six years, avid fans have been following the hit series Stranger Things and anxiously await to see how the riveting story will play out. Unfortunately, according to Screen Rant, followers of the show may have to wait a while longer to see the last installment in the series. Finn Wolfhard, the beloved actor playing Mike Wheeler in the show, recently announced that Stranger Things season 5 is slated to finally release in early 2025.

While many loyal fans of the series are disappointed by the recent pushback, Finn Wolfhard notes an important reason behind the change. Having acted on the show since he was just 13 years old, releasing the series in early 2025 will come sometime after his 22nd birthday. This move will allow the actor to celebrate his birthday with the friends he made on the show.

Before becoming the beloved Mike Wheeler, Finn Wolfhard had a long acting career. The child star got his start in the CW series The 100 and the film Supernatural when he was just 11 years old. Both roles prepared him for the largest part of his career thus far, on the hit series Stranger Things.

Finn Wolfhard recounts a plethora of great times on the show. Over the years acting with fellow stars including Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Noah Schapp, Gaten Matarazzo, and others, he has been able to form strong friendships. Stranger Things season 5 will mark the end of the series.

After its initial release in 2016, the show quickly gained a cult following. The series, directed by Matt and Ross Duffer, was released on Netflix and met with critical acclaim. Over the years, the show has been praised for its rich characterization, immersive atmosphere, and killer acting skills from the young stars.

Over the show’s past four seasons, it has been able to pick up an impressive number of awards and nominations, including  51 Primetime Emmy Awards, 12 of which were wins, four Golden Globe awards, and four Grammy Awards.

The fast-paced, riveting show follows Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, the leader of a small group of young protagonists that aim to keep their town, and the world, safe from supernatural threats. The series combines elements of drama, horror, and science fiction to create a truly binge-worthy show.

Not much has yet been revealed for fans waiting in anticipation for Stranger Things season 5 to come out. The creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, have kept what will come in the show’s final installment under wraps and have only let a few details surface.

Fans can expect the ensemble cast to return for Stranger Things season 5 including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Natalia Dyer. Additionally, a final encounter between Eleven and Vecna can be expected.

Other aspects of Stanger Things season 5 have also been revealed by the creators. The Duffers have hinted at a time jump between season four and season five to help address the gap between the two seasons. They also noted that they will use feedback from season 4 to craft the show’s finale and fans are sure it will be a success.
