Stranger Things Giving Away Dungeons & Dragons Pack To Fans

Stranger Things is crossing over with Dungeons & Dragons in an official module.

If you love Stranger Things and the classic roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons, then you’re in for a treat. Before the final season of the hit TV show comes out, you can get your hands on the Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons RPG Starter Set from Hasbro’s website. While the full physical set can cost you over $100, you can just download the entire rulebook off Hasbro’s site for free, according to ComicBook.com.

Downloading the PDF of the rulebook will get you started with Dungeons & Dragons, but it, unfortunately, does not include other key components like the Stranger Things character sheets, Demogorgon figures, dice, or the adventure book. However, if you’re crafty enough or can do some digging on the internet, we feel confident that you can re-create your very own version of the Stranger Things tabletop role-playing game.

The game Dungeons & Dragons first came out in 1974, and it has since become a popular game for freaks and geeks alike. The game allows each player to create their own unique character as they work with the Dungeon Master to tell an adventurous story where they all must battle and fight against evil forces.

The game has played a significant role throughout the Stranger Things TV series as best friends Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will first gather in Mike’s basement to play the game before it quickly becomes a real-life fantasy. The four friends and the superpowered Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) must battle through the Upside Down to defeat evil creatures, named after Dungeons & Dragons monsters (such as the Demogorgon and Vecna), from an alternate world.

In the latest season of Stranger Things, Eddie Munson (the President of the Hellfire Club) became a prominent character as he used his knowledge of the tabletop role-playing game to help his new friends in their quest to defeat Vecna, named by the group after the legendary Dungeons & Dragons villain. The young Erica Sinclair also showed off her impressive gaming skills and earned the right to join the Hellfire Club as Lady Applejack.

Some fans are speculating that Joseph Quinn might reprise his role as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things Season 5, despite his epic, guitar-playing sacrifice in Season 4. As much as fans would love to see the character return, it might tarnish the beautiful final moment that he and Dustin shared. Whether or not Joseph Quinn returns for the next season, fans will get to see if Hawkins residents can survive another battle against Vecna after the entire town was split in half.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is currently in development but is being delayed due to the writer’s strike in Hollywood. While the scripts are already finished, and the filming has already begun for Season 5, things are still being put on pause since writers are needed throughout filming to help edit and adjust writing as needed. This means we’ll just have to wait even longer for the dramatic conclusion to the Netflix supernatural drama.

While we all anxiously wait for the new season of Stranger Things, we can at least enjoy playing some Dungeons & Dragons to pass the time.
