Recently, Star Trek: Picard fans found out that Allison Pill, who played Dr. Agnes Jurati, would be leaving the show after Season 2. Now it looks like we’ll be losing another major player from the cast, as Evan Evagora has also confirmed that he will not be returning for the third and final season. Evagora himself confirmed it when he took to Instagram to post some behind-the-scenes pics for Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard, saying that he would not be back for the third season.

Evan Evagora played the Romulan Elnor in both seasons of Star Trek: Picard. The last time we saw him, he became a Starfleet Academy cadet for the USS Excelsior. Though his character was killed off, he still played a role by appearing in visions, holograms, and flashbacks. Eventually, he was resurrected. Allison Pill’s character also saw some major changes in Season 2, as she resisted the mind control of the Borg Queen, changed the Borg Collective as a whole, and became the new Borg Queen. While it’s disappointing to see these characters go, the Star Trek: Picard storyline has found a way to make sure everyone has satisfying exits from the series.

Star Trek: Picard is a series that has been running since 2020 and it will be wrapping up with the third and final season. The show was always planning on ending after three seasons, as the producers and creators felt like they had a story to tell about Jean-Luc Picard and they wanted to end his story in a satisfying way. Fans have loved seeing the return of Patrick Stewart in the role. The series shows us a retired Picard who is haunted by the death of Data and the destruction of the planet Romulus. The third season of Star Trek: Picard will see Picard reunited with many former crew members of the USS Enterprise. The returning cast members include LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner.

With the recent debut of the Season 2 finale, there are now two full seasons of Star Trek: Picard in the books. Though there is no word on a release date yet for the third season, it will likely be airing sometime in 2023. The final two seasons were filmed back-to-back, so the actors are already done. It’s entirely possible that we might find out more characters who won’t be returning for the third season. It’s possible that Isa Briones, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Harry Treadaway, Jeri Ryan, and Orla Brady will all be in the third season, but we’ll just have to wait and see. If anyone isn’t returning out of the remaining regulars, Santiago Cabrera’s Cristobal Rios seems like the most likely possibility. His character was left in the 21st century and apparently died in a bar fight, so that could leave things pretty up in the air for his character. Also, Cabrera was filming The Flight Attendant at the same time that the third season of Star Trek: Picard was filming, so it’s entirely possible he didn’t have the time.

If you want to catch up on Star Trek: Picard, you can watch the first two seasons on Paramount+.
