In Sofia Vergara's latest social media post, the star wows in a sexy gown while plugging to help a worthy charity.
Former sitcom star Sofia Vergara of fame wowed on the red carpet for the Baby2Baby Gala, showing off a daring ball gown with a plunging bustier-style top. The Emmy-nominated actress attended the gala for what she called her favorite nonprofit, which provides diapers and clothing to children in need across the country. “Just $10 provides 100 diapers,” she said.
Vergara shared an eye-popping picture of her outfit for the event, which delighted her more than 27 million followers on Instagram.
Sofia Vergara is no stranger to using her celebrity status to help charitable causes. She recently joined several celebrities in a campaign to sell t-shirts to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She also partnered with the micro-lending website Kiva to raise money for marginalized populations worldwide during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Vergara just finished serving as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent alongside NFL legend Michael Strahan, model Heidi Klum, comedian Howie Mandel, and American Idol alum Simon Cowell, as the reality competition show wrapped its 16th season. She joined the show in 2020, after wrapping on Modern Family, and has yet to announce whether or not she’ll be rejoining the show for it’s 17th season next year.
Born Sofía Margarita Vergara Vergara in Barranquilla, Colombia, her career began as a runway and fashion model. She rose to prominence during the late 1990s when she co-hosted two television shows for the Spanish-language television network Univision. The 50-year-old received her first notable acting gig in English with the 2003 American comedy Chasing Papi.
The film is centered on three women who find out they have all been dating the same man, and her performance in that film led to her casting in Modern Family, a series which followed the lives of three diverse families in suburban Los Angeles. Vergara’s role, playing Gloria Pritchett-Delgado, earned her four Emmy nominations and four Golden Globe nominations, as well as launching her fame into the stratosphere.
With her long-running role on Modern Family coming to an end in 2020, fans have been waiting for Vergara to tackle her next big television part and that will soon be coming in Griselda. The upcoming Netflix miniseries from the creative team behind Narcos will star Sofia Vergara as Griselda Blanco, the savvy and ambitious Colombian business woman who created one of the most profitable drug cartels in history. A devoted mother, Blanco’s lethal blend of charm and unsuspecting savagery helped her expertly navigate between family and business leading her to become widely known as the “Black Widow.”
The series premieres sometime next year, although a date has not been set.
