Simon Pegg is officially returning to grace our screens, but this time he is coming back in animated form. AppleTV+ is dipping its hands in the animation pool, as they have released the trailer for the brand-new animated film, Luck. Pegg plays the titular role of a Scottish black cat named Bob, that runs the Land of Luck. This is the first animation venture for Skydance Animation. You can be taken on a tour in the Land of Luck below:

Luck follows Sam Greenfield, voiced by Eva Noblezada, as she is said to be the unluckiest person in the world. She seems to randomly stumble upon the Land of Luck in the trailer, which is home to Bob and a ton of other luck-based animals. Those animals include pigs and rabbits, but there are also some leprechauns walking around as well. As you can see, the motif here is all about being lucky. However, as Bob (Simon Pegg) explains things, there is also a bad luck department that is responsible for also giving people bad luck. Why this happens will be revealed in the film. Sam might be given bad luck for a reason out of her control.

Simon Pegg played a character of Scottish descent when he portrayed Scotty in the rebooted Star Trek films. Now it appears as if he is set to return to a Scottish-born character, which happens to be a black cat named Bob. The old saying is that black cats are unlucky, especially if they cross your path. However, it seems that Bob is meant to instruct us on what constitutes bad and good luck in the Land of Luck. However, that all comes undone with Sam waltzing into the facility’s floor. Luck stars Eva Noblezada, Simon Pegg, Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O’Donoghue, John Ratzenberger, Adelynn Spoon, Jane Fonda, and Whoopi Goldberg. That is certainly a massive cast for an animated film. This was only a teaser trailer for the film, so there could be a full-length trailer coming soon, as the film is set to premiere on the streaming platform at the beginning of August.

Luck will premiere on AppleTV+, as the streaming platform seems to be expanding its content by a good amount. The company was lucky enough to land Best Film honors at the Academy Awards for the film, CODA. Since then, there are more and more features and shows being added to the streaming platform’s lineup. Tons and high-level stars are being added to these movies and films as well. As you can see, the massive cast they have already put together for Luck.

Luck will officially debut on AppleTV+ on August 5th, 2022. The film seems to hold the type of charm that Dreamworks animated films have held in the past. It isn’t quite Disney-looking, but it does have a unique art style about it. Simon Pegg and the black cat Bob character are likely to charm everyone in this new animated venture for Skydance Animation.
