Ginger Gonzaga, who plays the character of paralegal Nikki Ramos on She-Hulk, recently revealed in an interview that pieces of clothing from her own personal wardrobe have made their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to her keen sense of fashion. How many actors do you know who can brag about an accomplishment like that?

The She-Hulk star told The Hollywood Reporter, “I didn’t feel comfortable as Nikki unless she was wearing something a little defiant or something that she shouldn’t be wearing at work or something that’s a little too high fashion and really racks up her credit cards.”

In an effort to make her character’s fashion speak volumes in every scene she’s featured in on She-Hulk, Gonzaga and her costume designer Ann Foley made the decision to remain true to the actress’ real-life style. In fact, the star sold her own clothes to the show’s costume department since her sense of fashion worked wonderfully for her character. Speaking with THR, she said, “Sometimes, they bought my personal clothes off me for Nikki. I lost a lot of wardrobe on this job, but they paid me for it.”

Although providing personal clothes isn’t a requirement usually listed in an actor’s job description, it doesn’t appear that Ginger Gonzaga has any complaints. How could she? The She-Hulk star gets to practically wear her street clothes to work, and we confess, she does seem to know a thing or two about fashion.

She-Hulk is off to a tremendous start, with the new MCU series becoming an instant hit amongst fans. Ginger Gonzaga is terrific, and we’re not just talking about her clothing. She and Tatiana Maslany have great chemistry as best friends Nikki Ramos and Jennifer Walters, the latter being the show’s central character. Joining the pair are actors Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Benedict Wong (Wong), Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky/Abomination), and Steve Coulter (Holden Holliway).

Ginger Gonzaga is quickly becoming a household name due to her role on She-Hulk, but this isn’t her first rodeo when it comes to starring on television. The actress has appeared on a number of popular shows including Those Who Can’t, Kidding, and Grace and Frankie. Additionally, she’s done quite a bit of voice work on shows like Family Guy, Robot Chicken, and American Dad!. It was recently announced Gonzaga had landed a role on True Lies, an upcoming television series based on James Cameron’s 1994 action flick of the same name.

She-Hulk is currently streaming on Disney+. The series follows Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered Hulk.

The first two episodes of She-Hulk are already available to watch now, which means you can check out star Ginger Gonzaga’s glorious clothing style and see what all of the fuss is about. Fashion aside, the series has been generally well-received by both audiences and critics alike, even if some review bombers may lead you to believe otherwise. Currently, the show sits on Rotten Tomatoes with an 88% fresh rating from critics and an audience score of 78%. With seven episodes still to come, there’s a possibility the show could take a downhill tumble. As it stands, She-Hulk looks to be yet another hit for the MCU and Disney.
