10 Sexiest Sci-Fi Actresses in TV History

For those of you TV sci-fi buffs, you are well aware that this particular landscape is filled with some very attractive women. Going all the way back to Star Trek: The Original Series up through The Handmaid’s Tale, these women are head-turners, each and every one. They bring a lot to the table in each series they represent, but it isn’t simply their looks that brought them to this list.

Most of the sexiest sci-fi actresses have also shown the ability to slip into something body-defining or even show more skin than fans have seen from the actress previously. With that in mind, we were able to pare down our list to ten, though it was not an easy chore.

10. Nichelle Nichols - Star Trek

Right out of the gate, we go old school venturing back to the “final frontier” and Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS). TOS ran for only three seasons (1966-69), but during that run, Trekkies were delighted to take in the allure of Nichelle Nichols.

Nichols played Lt. Uhura not only in the original series but also in Star Trek: The Animated Series and each of the six films that co-starred the cast from the original. Nicholas was and always will be considered the Queen of the entire Star Trek franchise with her good looks and fantastic voice, which she got to show off in the film Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.

9. Grace Park - Battlestar Galactica

Grace Park played Lt. Sharon “Boomer” Valerii in the reboot of the sci-fi TV series Battlestar Galactica, a series that featured a number of sexy women. Battlestar Galactica ran for four seasons with Park in each and every episode.

Park was on-screen with several other Battlestar Galactica beauties that included Katee Sackhoff and Tricia Helfer, but she definitely held her own. Park’s beauty followed her to another hit TV series, a non-sci-fi one, Hawaii Five-O, that saw her and co-star Daniel Dae Kim walk away from the show.

Apparently, there was a contract dispute between the stars and CBS Studios and when CBS wouldn’t meet their salary demands, they walked away. A true loss for the fans.

8. Eliza Dushku - Dollhouse

Before Eliza Dushku walked away from acting for good in 2017, the gorgeous actress was the lead in the Joss Whedon-created sci-fi TV series, Dollhouse. The series followed Dushku’s Echo, who was part of a secret organization that would wipe away the memories of attractive young people, turning them into blank “dolls.”

The “dolls” would then be implanted with temporary memories and identities so they could perform assignments for high-paying clients. When the “dolls” aren’t active, they live in an underground facility dubbed the Dollhouse. Dushku made all 27 episodes worth the time investment. Unfortunately, the series only lasted two seasons.

7. Yvonne Strahovski - Chuck and The Handmaid's Tale

Yvonne Strahovski has been in two long-running sci-fi TV shows worth noting. The first one was Chuck, which ran for five seasons, and the second one is ongoing, The Handmaid’s Tale.

In Chuck, Strahovski plays Sarah Walker, an agent assigned to protect Chuck (Zachary Levi) after he accidentally downloads a secret government computer into his brain.

Strahovski can now be seen in the hit Hulu series, The Handmaid’s Tale as Serena Joy Waterford, a role in which she has been nominated for three Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmys, and one Golden Globe Award. Not only is Strahovski one of the sexiest sci-fi actresses out there, but she is also a pretty damn good actor as well.

6. Lucy Lawless - Xena: Warrior Princess

For six seasons, Lucy Lawless drove men, young and old, crazy as the sexy Xena. Although Lawless had been slowly making a career for herself before her hit series, it was her role as the Warrior Princess that opened the eyes in Hollywood. It didn’t hurt that she was easy on those eyes and that Xena was always seen in warrior gear that was more revealing than it wasn’t.

But it wasn’t only as Xena that caught the eye of many, Lawless also appeared in the sci-fi reboot of Battlestar Galactica. She played D’Anna Biers (Number Three) for 16 episodes of the series and showed why she is considered to be one of the sexiest sci-fi actresses in television history.

5. Lena Headey - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

The Terminator franchise is one that revolves around A-lister Arnold Schwarzenegger. From the time he appeared on the big screen as the terrifying T-800, fans wanted more and more of him. They also wanted more of Sarah Connor, and while there were a couple of iterations of her on the big screen, there was also another on the small screen.

Linda Hamilton portrayed her in four films, Emilia Clarke in one, and on the TV screen, it was Lena Headey who took over as Sarah Connor.

Not only did Headey handle herself well in the physical role of Connor, but she did it with some sex appeal. True, she doesn’t resemble Hamilton much physically, but she definitely is one of the sexiest sci-fi actresses on the small screen. Unfortunately, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles only lasted two seasons.

4. Morena Baccarin - Firefly and V

Morena Baccarin is well-known for her time on the TV series Gotham as well as the feature films Deadpool and Deadpool 2. But she is probably best known for taking sexy into outer space as Inara Serra in the sci-fi series Firefly and its follow-up feature film, Serenity.

Along with that, Baccarin also found time in the remake TV series V, a series about a well-advanced alien species that comes to Earth spouting peace but hides sinister motives.

Firefly was Baccarin’s very first television role, unfortunately lasting one season. Thankfully fans got to get some closure when the entire cast returned for Serenity. As for V, the remake barely got more time on TV, lasting a short two seasons. Both, though, showed why Morena Baccarin is considered one of the sexiest sci-fi actresses.

3. Jeri Ryan - Star Trek: Voyager, Picard

Right when Jeri Ryan appeared as Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager in her skintight catsuits, Trekkies got to see what striking beauty and sex appeal were all about. Ryan joined the cast of Star Trek: Voyager at the start of season four (the series ran fittingly for seven seasons) and immediately appeared on magazine covers and talk shows.

When Ryan’s character was first conceived, she was going to be a “wild child.” Brannon Braga, Star Trek: Voyager executive producer, had visioned Seven of Nine as “a girl raised by wolves.”

It wasn’t until Rick Berman stepped in and although he liked the idea of a new character such as Seven of Nine, he saw her more as a “Borg babe.” The network loved Berman’s take and the sexy Seven of Nine was created. She has also made a reappearance on Star Trek: Picard.

2. Gillian Anderson - The X-Files

There were so many things that fans went gaga about when it came to Gillian Anderson’s Dana Scully. No doubt it was the fiery red hair and the simple fact she was beautiful. It could also have been the feistiness her character showed, along with the smarts. She was the perfect balance for David Duchovny’s Agent Fox Mulder.

As far as sexy sci-fi actresses go, Anderson ranks near the top. She played Scully as smart and capable for 11 seasons, the first original run lasted nine seasons (1993-2002) and then when the series was revived, it ran for two more seasons from 2016-2018.

1. Tricia Helfer – Battlestar Galactica

We are not sure if it gets any better than this as far as sexy sci-fi actresses go. Tricia Helfer began her career as a Canadian Cover Girl model, so she definitely had the goods early on. Helfer played Number Six in the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, a series that ran for six seasons.

Helfer has enjoyed a career that has led her down many paths including sci-fi, comedy, drama, action, and mystery and while she might be best known as the sexy Number Six in Battlestar Galactica, Helfer’s resume also includes the hit TV series Lucifer, where she played Lucifer’s sexy mother, Charlotte.

Tricia Helfer is one put-together lady who deserves to be at the top of the sexist sci-fi actresses list.
