If there’s one thing that Child’s Play fans can agree on, it’s that Chucky needs Tiffany, and both need Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly. The producers of the SyFy series Chucky, which is a continuation of the original Child’s Play storyline and not a reboot, seem to understand this, and we’ll have plenty of all four this fall. SyFy released a trailer for season 2 of Chucky this weekend, in the midst of the San Diego Comic-Con, and the response was just what you expected from fans. Season two premieres October 5 on both SyFy and USA Networks, according to MovieWeb.

The series has been a hit with fans for capturing the feel and wicked humor of the original 1988 film, and the trailer promises more of that in season two, and then some. It also has had tons of connections to the previous films, including returning many of the original actors in addition to Brad Dourif (who is obviously a must) and Jennifer Tilly. Alex Vincent, who played Andy Barclay in the original film and several sequels, appeared in season one and is due to appear this season as well. Fiona Dourif, the daughter of Brad Dourif, joined the franchise in 2013’s Curse of Chucky and appears in the series as well. With most of the surviving cast returning, season two looks to focus on the new army of Chucky dolls that appear ready to take over the world.

Fans are excited about the trailer, based on the response from Twitter and YouTube reaction videos. The appearance of Jennifer Tilly seems to bring a lot of excitement, as her unhinged character gives the series an even crazier edge. They also took note of the appearance of some fan-favorite characters returning for the second season, including a brief glimpse at Glen and Glenda, Chucky, and Tiffany’s twins, who now have human bodies and drive a car with a “They/Them” license plate. It was recently announced that Lachlan Watson (Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) will be playing both roles.

Among the other returning cast are Zackary Arthur (Jake), Björgvin Arnarson (Devon), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Lexy), Devon Sawa (playing a new character), Christine Elise (Kyle), and Barbara Alyn Woods (Mayor Cross). It had previously been announced that Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano, Sutton Stracke, and Meg Tilly, the real-life sister of Jennifer Tilly, will appear as well. Gershon and Pantoliano (The Matrix) had appeared with Jennifer Tilly in Bound in 1996, making for a sort of mini reunion in this series.

Although Jennifer Tilly is perhaps best known for playing Tiffany, she has had a long and successful career in acting. After getting her start with multiple TV roles in shows including Hill Street Blues and It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, she caught everyone’s attention with her roles in 1988’s Johnny Be Good and The Fabulous Baker Boys in 1989. Her other roles in Bullets Over Broadway and Jim Carrey’s Liar Liar made her one of the hottest actresses in the 1990s, alongside her role as Tiffany, beginning with 1998’s Bride of Chucky. She’s also currently active on the professional poker tour circuit when she isn’t acting.

The new trailer appears to be literally causing fans to take to the streets. A viral Facebook post from this past weekend shows what appears to be a real-life Chucky stalking the streets of Pinson, Alabama. According to a local news station, it turned out to be just a kid in a Chucky costume he bought for Halloween. Sadly, there wasn’t a girl cosplaying as Jennifer Tilly’s Tiffany, although SyFy is happy enough for the free publicity the post provided on the heels of the trailer.
