Critics have chosen the worst Sandra Bullock movie and it isn't all that surprising seeing as how the actress herself hated it as well.

Sandra Bullock has been a household name for decades, thanks to her extensive catalog of blockbuster movies. She’s earned acclaim for her work as an action star and popular rom-com lead, with several awards to her name. However, the A-lister has also got her fair share of bad reviews. She even accepted an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Razzie Award for the same category in the same year. Now, critics have chosen the actress’ worst film from her vast career. And as it turns out, she hates it too.

While 2009’s All About Steve dominated the Razzies in 2010, Speed 2 tops the list of Sandra Bullock’s worst movies. Infamously known as one of the worst sequels of all time, Cruise Control was directed by Jan de Bont from a script by Randall McCormick and Jeff Nathanson. The story follows a couple on their way to the Caribbean aboard a luxury cruise liner. When the ship is hijacked by a villain named Geiger, who has also programmed it to crash into an oil tanker, Annie and Alex work with the ship’s first officer to save everyone.

Unlike its predecessor, Speed 2 earned the most negative reviews by the widest array of critics. It still only holds a 4% approval rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, the critics’ consensus says the Sandra Bullock starrer falls short due to its laughable dialogue, thin characterization, unsurprisingly familiar plot devices, and action sequences that fail to generate any excitement. It was also a box-office failure, earning just $164 million against a production budget of $160 million. As such, the film was nominated for eight Golden Raspberry Awards, winning the Worst Remake or Sequel category.

Interestingly, Sandra Bullock doesn’t shy away from her failed movies. During the promotional tour for The Lost City, the star said she was embarrassed to have been in Speed 2. She also added that the premise made no sense because a slow boat traveling toward an island doesn’t create a sense of urgency. Another film The Blind Side star isn’t fond of is 2005’s Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous. When Metro UK asked her if she’d be willing to step back into those uncomfortable high heels for a third installment in the franchise, the actress did not mince her words. “God no! No, no,” she told the publication.

Fortunately, Sandra Bullock currently has a hit on her hands with The Lost City. Billed as an action-adventure comedy, the movie is directed by the Nee brothers, who co-wrote the script with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox, from a story by Seth Gordon. The film was released by Paramount Pictures on March 25th and received mostly positive reviews. It also earned over $175 million at the global box office, against a $68 million budget. Due to its success, the film is the tenth highest-grossing release of 2022.

The Lost City tells the story of a successful, yet depressed, best-selling romance novelist named Loretta Sage / Angela (Sandra Bullock), who teams up with cover model Alan Caprison (Channing Tatum) to find the ancient city depicted in one of her tales. Along the way, the unlikely pair has to escape a billionaire who thinks Loretta will lead him to the city’s treasures. Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Brad Pitt also star in the film.
