Fans have been eagerly waiting for Deadpool 3, where Marvel has confirmed that Deadpool will officially be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, there was always the chance that Ryan Reynolds could be more established in the cinematic universe before then. Apparently, that proved true, because it’s happening right now in the video below.

In an extremely Wade Wilson fashion, the four-minute video has Ryan Reynolds in character as Deadpool and asking all the right questions.

There are just so many things happening here. We have Deadpool, establishing himself as a fan vloggers who does trailer reaction videos. First, we see a clip of him reacting to Cruella and asking where all the dogs are. Then, he lets us know that in this week’s reaction video, he’ll be reacting to the trailer for Free Guy, the Ryan Reynold’s movie that should have come out several times by now, but is currently scheduled for an August 13, 2021 release date. Not a Marvel movie, Free Guy sees Reynolds playing Guy, who will become aware that he’s in a video game world. It’s a Reynolds’ movie, so it looks hilarious.

Then we see that Ryan Reynolds is sitting on a sofa next to Korg, a character you may remember from movies like Thor: Ragnarok. This is the part where we officially see Deadpool in a video with a fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe character. Korg has been voiced by Taika Waititi, who we soon see in the video plays the villain in Free Guy.

In typical Deadpool fashion, Ryan Reynolds makes a lot of comments that make fun of Reynolds himself and the movies he’s in. He pauses on the face of Jody Comer in the Free Guy trailer and comments that he hopes she doesn’t get fridged. He then explains that fridging is when a female character dies a terrible death in order to move along the character development for a male lead. This happens a lot in comic books and was famously part of a 1994 Green Lantern story. Today, when you look up “fridging”, a lot of the results point you to articles on Deadpool 2. Ryan Reynolds brings attention to this by saying that fridging could be otherwise known as Deadpool 2 after the death of Vanessa (played by Morena Baccarin) in that movie.

The video ended with Ryan Reynolds asking, “Any tips for getting into the MCU there Korg?”At which time he suggested sabotaging your own happiness, and went on a truly long little rant in a style very true to Taika Waititi characters. In the end, he suggested that Deadpool wait for an email from his agent. And then, right before the end of the video, Ryan Reynolds seems to take a little swipe at Thor: The Dark World, saying that he prefers Dark World. Dark World is often considered one of the worst Marvel movies.

This video was a trailer reaction from two fictional characters, establishing them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while also commenting on a whole other movie that’s coming out soon. What a wild ride.
