Riverdale Season 7

The trailer for Riverdale season 7 has been released by The CW. Called “Don’t Worry Darling,” just like the Florence Pugh-led film, the first episode will hit screens on March 29th. Previously released images saw the gang embracing high school in 1955 following the events of the previous installment. However, the footage of the show’s latest outing gave fans a more detailed look at their upcoming adventure.

The Riverdale season 7 premiere clip features Jughead trying to convince his friends that they traveled back in time. But when no one believes him, he is forced to navigate an unfamiliar world while trying to find a way back to the future. Meanwhile, his friends seem unaware that they’ve ever existed outside the era and go about their lives as seen in the classic Archie Comics.

Archie Andrews is a classic teenager who learns about life while getting into a bit of trouble. Betty Cooper is the intelligent girl next door who starts to question her perfect life. Veronica Lodge moves to Riverdale for mysterious reasons, and Reggie Mantle is a basketball star. Meanwhile, Jughead Jones is visited by Tabitha Tate, who reveals the truth about their cosmic predicament.

“Jughead, we’re juniors in high school. Life’s good. We are not from the future!” Archie says when his friend tries to make him understand. But the decade isn’t the only thing different in Riverdale, as season 7 introduces several unlikely romantic pairings. This includes Jughead and Veronica, Betty and Kevin, and Archie and Cheryl. The new season also comes with its own murder mystery.

The time jump was written into the show when Chery used her powers to save the town from a comet. While she succeeded, the event sent Riverdale back to 1955 for season 7. Over the years, the series has become synonymous with wild plotlines. Speaking about the setting, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said that it’s been fun to “be in that world.”

He also said that Riverdale season 7 will be “totally surprising” and “completely inevitable.” Fans should also keep an eye out for Kiernan Shipka returning as Sabrina Spellman. While the network has confirmed nothing, the actress told TV Guide that her iconic character might help Jughead and the others find their way back to the present.

Adapted for television by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the series is based on the characters from the popular Archie Comics. The series initially followed the gang navigating high school while uncovering evils plaguing their quiet, suburban town. In 2022, The CW revealed that Riverdale would end with season 7.

At the time, network CEO Mark Pedowitz told The Hollywood Reporter he believes Riverdale a big send-off due to its longevity. “We want to make sure it goes out the right way,” he told the publication. Riversdale season 7 stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, and Mädchen Amick. Casey Cott, Charles Melton, and Vanessa Morgan round out the cast.

Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV produce the series. Aguirre-Sacasa serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Archie Comics publisher Jon Goldwater.
