In an age where it seems almost impossible to avoid spoilers, sometimes it’s not even your friends that are guilty of letting their tongues slip from time to time. Sometimes the blame falls squarely on the actors who are tasked with being in films that have some big secrets. That is certainly the case for someone like Tom Holland, who has often let too many details slip. I know I keep harping on the guy, but seriously, keep those secrets quiet Tom. However, the newest revelation or spoiler comes from fan-favorite Peter Dinklage, as he has clearly stated he is set to return to the MCU in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Peter Dinklage was recently asked about his future in the MCU, and he sure let the spoilers fly, but in a very coy way. According to Dinklage, “Umm, well there’s another Thor movie there, isn’t there, that’s coming out? That Taika’s directed? What – I didn’t say anything. I didn’t say anything. What? What?” That’s a pretty clever way to dance around outwardly admitting that he would be back for the newest Thor entry, but it sure sounds as if he is to set to appear at some capacity in the new film.
For those who need a refresher, Peter Dinklage played the “dwarf” known as Eitri. Eitri made his debut in the Avengers: Endgame. His race of dwarves was tasked with creating some of the most important weaponry that exists in the MCU which includes Thor’s Mjolnir hammer, the Infinity Gauntlet, and the Thanos-killing Stormbreaker ax. However, when the completion of the Infinity Gauntlet was done, Thanos wiped out Eitri’s race. Eitri was allowed to live, but the usage of his hands was also done away by The Mad Titan. Thanks to the efforts of Thor, Rocket Racoon, and Groot, the ax known as Stormbreaker was created to help in defeating Thanos.
Although it might not make sense that Eitri would appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, there are some instances that make it pretty obvious. Eitri was aboard a space forge called Nidavellir, which may not be significant any longer. However, now that Thor is palling around with the Guardians of the Galaxy, they might find their way back into deep space and this forge. This is just speculation, but with Jane Foster reportedly becoming the next Thor, she is likely taking Mjolnir right along with that role. Wouldnt that mean that Thor will need himself a new weapon? Enter Eitri (Peter Dinklage).
Peter Dinklage has become a fan-favorite actor after his amazing portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the Game of Thrones series. He has appeared in several other movies, each with plenty of fandom behind it. He is also set to be the star of The Toxic Avenger in the reboot of that classic 1980s gorefest. Seeing Dinklage appear back in the MCU is certainly going to be a treat for all fans of the Marvel films. Now we just need to find a way to get him to appear in a Batman film. Come on Matt Reeves, make it happen.
