Patrick Stewart has legions of fans out there and with very good reason. The dude has played one of the most iconic characters in some time, recently reprising the role for a much-ballyhooed series. But that’s not at all, fans also love the signature look of the actor who has embraced the baldness for decades now. And these folks weren’t too happy recently when someone else was named World’s Sexiest bald man by The Independent. It didn’t take long for those folks to rally behind Stewart and all his shiny-headed sexiness. This thing went viral on Twitter.

When The Independent named Prince William as the winner in the least-hair, best-looking category fans of Patrick Stewart jumped into the mentions quickly to issue what amounted to a correction on this egregious error. First, the publication let everyone know who they’d chosen to be the winner.

But that was quickly followed up with Patrick Stewart stans coming to the actor’s defense in what should have been his title. Check out some examples of those folks who saw this as a terrible oversight.

Patrick Stewart wasn’t the only actor or celebrity that folks thought should have walked away with this made-up award over Prince William. Among the many (many) other people mentioned were Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Stanley Tucci, and Boris Kodjoe. There was a veritable whose who of bald dudes to choose from making The Independent’s choice looking a bit like homecourt advantage for the Royal family (though Stewart is practically royalty in the UK).

It seems like Patrick Stewart never really had hair and one need only go back more than three decades, all the way to 1987 when he first appeared as Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He didn’t have any hair then either but quickly became the new face for the iconic franchise on the series. His time spent on the Enterprise has made him synonymous with the franchise ever since.

And the baldness didn’t stop there. It also helped him land the role of Professor Charles Xavier in the initial X-Men movies. He looked very much the part we’d seen in the comic books and was such a logical choice for the part as Professor X. Though that role turned over to McAvoy when the Marvel franchise went a younger route, it’s always Stewart who will be mentioned with the role.

These days Patrick Stewart is basically right back to where it all began. The 80-year-old (you read that right) actor is starring in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard. The show was a much-anticipated return to the character and debuted on CBS All Access to the platform’s biggest streaming numbers it had ever seen. The first season was a critical and commercial success with Stewart taking home some awards for his titular role. The second season was delayed because of pandemic-related filming issues but started finally filming back in mid-February.

While we wait for that season to come back to the streaming platform, jump online and back up Patrick Stewart as the best-looking bald guy out there. He’s been rocking it for decades and at worst deserves a lifetime bald achievement award.
