If you’re a fan of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (aka Miraculous Ladybug), you have less than a month to watch the first three seasons on Netflix. The popular superhero show is set to exit the platform on February 1 (via What’s On Netflix). Disney acquired the global streaming and television rights to the show years ago, so this move was a long time coming.

Miraculous Ladybug is a Paris-set superhero show that follows Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who use gems imbued with powers by Kwamis to gain their superpowers. The series also features a love story between the two protagonists, Marinette and Adrien, who are simultaneously unaware of each other’s superhero forms. The show has achieved worldwide popularity and tons of fans since coming out in 2015.

Of course, anything with that level of popularity is sure to catch the Sauron-like eye of Disney, who snapped up the streaming and television rights to Miraculous Ladybug back in 2019 and 2020. Disney+ currently has both Season 4 and Season 5 available to stream on its platform, so right now Netflix is the best place to catch the first three seasons. Presumably, those seasons will make the jump to Disney+ shortly after Netflix subscribers lose access.

Along with grabbing the television and streaming rights to Miraculous Ladybug, Disney also grabbed the rights to the Miraculous World: New York – United HeroeZ and Miraculous World: Shanghai – Lady Dragon films, which are also available to stream on the Disney+ platform. A Christmas Special – Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir is also set to leave Netflix on February 1, so that will presumably be available on Disney+ soon as well. However, Netflix will likely maintain the streaming rights for the Netflix-exclusive webisode Happy Birthday to You!, at least for the time being.

Of course, just because Miraculous Ladybug is leaving Netflix doesn’t mean fans won’t be getting more of the beloved series. The show has been confirmed for at least two more seasons, which will undoubtedly be available to stream on Disney+ at some point. The show is also set to get a big feature film in the summer of 2023.

The Miraculous Ladybug series will get Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie on July 5, 2023 (in France). The film will be directed and written by Jeremy Zag. It was also revealed that the film will be a mix of an origin story and the ongoing storyline of the television series. The movie is also set to be a musical with music composed by Zag.

It’s unclear when US fans can expect to see the Miraculous Ladybug movie, but it seems likely that they would prioritize making it available to global fans as soon as possible. In the meantime, make sure to check out the first three seasons of the show on Netflix if you need to catch up before it leaves. While Disney doesn’t own the overall rights to the series, just the streaming and television airing rights, it’s always possible that the show could return to the Netflix platform sometime in the future.
